Wilcoxson (Sonny) Martinez

RONAN — Wilcoxson Eriacho (Sonny) Martinez, 53 passed away Tuesday, December 15, 2020 at St. Luke Hospital of natural causes. 

Sonny was born Monday, October 16, 1967 to Janice Irvine and Wilcox Martinez in San Francisco, Ca.

He was a proud member of CSKT and was employed by them for many years in the Maintenance Department. He was currently working at Tribal Health in Polson.

He loved Pow-wows, concerts, camping, fishing and just hanging out with his kids and friends, especially around a big campfire.

He was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Edmund (Buzz) Irvine and Mary Christine Gingras, aunties and uncle, Nita Jacobson, Jeanne Irvine Antoine, Barbara French, and Pete Johnson, and his son, David Joseph Martinez, and a stepson Sean Bigby.

He is survived by and will be missed greatly by his children, Chantel Martinez of Omak, WA. Dominic Martinez of Elmo, and Athena, Chimeco and Son-Son Martinez of Pablo. A brother, David of Shelby, a sister Dawna Mae of Ronan, and his mom, Janice Irvine Michel of Pablo also survive him. He also leaves behind aunties and uncles, Carol Finley, Tina Wingender and Jim Wunder of Ronan, Karen Little and Willow Diaz of Pablo, Patti Martin of Hays, MT, Linda Vandiver of Ogden, UT. and Randy Johnson of Anderson, IN. and many nieces, nephews, and cousins, especially Ott, Tweet and Mike and many close friends especially his Tailgate buddies.

Rosary was Friday, December 18 at the Elmo Hall with burial services following on December 19 in Dayton. Pallbearers were: Jean (Geno) Deranleau, William (B-Bob) Antoine, Corky Sias, Carlos Gonzales, Randon Lefthand, and Royce LaFromboise. Cross bearer was Jami (Ott) Lozeau.
