RONAN – Lois Marie “Taddie” Baylor Carlson, 84, of St. Ignatius passed in her sleep on August 7, 2019 at St. Luke’s Hospital from pneumonia.

Lois was born in St. Ignatius, MT on October 1, 1934 to Ray O. Baylor and Loise Matt Baylor Pierre. She was the last of 8 children. Lois was raised, went to school and lived in St. Ignatius most of her early life where she enjoyed playing the bass fiddle with a group called “The Plainsmen”.

As a Navy dependent she traveled for many years and moved back to Montana in 1971. She worked many jobs; in the orchards & canning facilities in California; waitressing, bartending and lastly as a caregiver/owner of a retirement home in St. Ignatius.

Lois’s hobbies were cooking, sewing, reading, crosswords, soduko, watching old game shows and Auctions/Yard sales. What she loved most of all where the kids in her life; specifically the nieces, nephews and grandbabies.

Lois was famous for wearing silk muumuus and other colorful attire. She was a jokester/prankster and storyteller. She had no filter and would look you in the eyes and tell it like it is!!! She was a devoted wife, mother, Grandma “Pat”, “Grams”, ”Yaya”, friend, auntie, comforter to all and proud member of the Pend Oreille Tribe. She will be greatly missed!!!

Lois is preceded in death by her husband Merrill Carlson; father Ray O. Baylor; Mother Loise Matt Baylor; siblings; Rachel Vance, Ireen Markusen, Agnes “Tilly” Morrison, Robert “Bob” Baylor, Raymond “Cub” Baylor, Howard “Spud” Baylor, and Francis “Hank” Baylor; her children Patti Sessions, Bub & Cabe Sessions and a nephew Baylor B. Baylor.

Lois is survived by her grandchildren Jay McElderry (Sara, Mya, & Kyla), M’lissa McElderry (Chris), Vanessa & Ian Klein; Brian Sessions; Great Grandchildren Rowan McElderry, Elliott Epperson, Finn Klein; & Nephew Guy Morrison (Dorsett) as well as many other beloved nieces, nephews and cousins.

Family was everything to Lois. We apologize if we forgot anyone.

In accordance with her wishes there will be no services or gathering at this time. A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date in the Spring /Summer of 2020.
