Lake County-CSKT Unified Command Center (UCC) – The Lake County Health Department, following up on an earlier case that had been reported as a presumptive positive COVID-19 case, reported Wednesday that the case came back as negative.

Presumptive positives are based on a less-reliable fast test. Confirmations are done with a more reliable lab test. Lake County remains at nine lab-confirmed COVID-19 cases.

Original press release:

POLSON – The Lake County Health Department has reported a presumptive positive COVID-19 case.  Public Health Nurses have conducted a case investigation with the client and close contacts have been identified.  Public Health Nurses are working to notify those identified as close contacts to ensure that they are tested and quarantined.

The client had reported frequenting the KwaTaqNuk Casino prior to becoming sick.  Public Health officials have been able to determine that the client was not at the casino while contagious.
