Winter weather is upon us and the Natural Resources Department's Road Maintenance Program is here to provide residents of Home-sites a safe and effective route of travel to county or state routes during winter weather.
The crew is responsible for plowing and sanding approximately 22 miles of roadway spread throughout 30 locations across the Flathead Reservation.
Snowfall amounts vary greatly across the reservation. Routes will generally be cleared once per day when three or more inches of snow has accumulated, and intersections generally sanded once per day when icy.
The snowplow drivers want to clear the streets for public safety. When more than three inches of snow accumulating, please move vehicles and other obstacles out of the street when possible.
Please be patient and know that the plows will be working to get all
Home-sites cleared as quickly as possible.
