Lake County’s Healthcare leaders from Public Health, Polson Health and Rehab, Tribal Health, Kalispell Regional Healthcare, Saint Luke Community Healthcare and Providence St. Joseph Medical Center have been working together to ensure we protect our patients and community. Some of this collaboration has included:

  1. Limiting visitors to all of our facilities. One way to prevent the spread of Coronavirus is to protect our patients and caregivers from being exposed to possibly exposed visitors.
  2. Screening for temperatures and/or other symptoms of Coronavirus upon entry into our facilities.
  3. Limiting clinic visits and nonessential appointments to encourage social distancing.
  4. Conserving our personal protective equipment such as surgical masks, gloves and surgical gowns by only performing surgery only on an emergent basis.

Many of you are asking “What can I do to help?”

  1. Social Distancing. One of the largest impacts you can make in the preventing the spread of this virus is to minimize the amount of people you come in contact with. Some tips for social distancing including avoiding large gatherings (10 people or more) and maintaining a six foot distance between yourself and others
  2. Wash your hands. Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. If soap and water are not available, use hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol.
  3. Donate Personal Protective Equipment. There is a nationwide shortage of supplies meant to protect our caregivers. If you are a local or regional business and have Personal Protective Equipment such as masks or gloves, please consider donating them to a healthcare facility.
  4. Contact Public Health. If you believe you have been exposed to the Coronavirus, please reach out to our local Public Health Department to receive guidance on next steps.
