PABLO — On Tuesday, March 17, 2020, The Confederated Salish and Kootenai (CSKT) Tribal Council went on record to officially declare a State of Emergency exists within the exterior boundaries of the Flathead Indian Reservation due to the global outbreak of COVID-19, (coronavirus), pursuant to Resolution 20-086. As of this date, Missoula County and Lake County have made official declarations of a state of emergency. CSKT, following the Tribal Emergency Operations Plan, now considers the potential threat to be escalated from a Standby/Alert to a Partial Activation of the CSKT Emergency Operations Center (EOC).

CSKT also activated a government-wide partial-shutdown, effective March 16 through March 27, 2020, in which essential services are continuing with emphasis on protecting individuals who are most at-risk due to age, respiratory, or compromised immune systems. Travel restrictions remain in place for all tribal programs, affiliates and corporations.
