From CSKT Natural Resources Department

The Confederated Salish & Kootenai Tribes announce the beginning of the 2019-2020 Off Reservation Wild Bison Hunt Orientations. Each CSKT Tribal hunter is required to attend an orientation with the Division of Fish, Wildlife, Recreation and Conservation to be issued a bison hunt permit and report card for the upcoming season.

The September dates for the orientations are scheduled for Wednesday, September 11, Monday, September 23, and Monday, September 30. All orientations will take place at the council chambers and begin at noon and 6 pm, please show up early to sign-in. Council chambers is located in Pablo at the Tribal Complex off Highway 93.

Please register early as space is limited. To prepare for this bison hunt and other off Reservation hunts bring your updated tribal identification and any unfilled permits and report card to the orientation.

Contact Amanda Bourdon, Tribal Permit Agent, at 675-2700 ext. 7200 to register for an orientation. After completing the orientation, your Off Reservation Wild Bison Hunt Bison Permit and Report Card will be available.

We remind hunters, that this bison tag does not guarantee that you will successfully harvest a bison. Like other hunts, the availability of bison during the hunt period will depend on weather, migratory patterns of bison, as well as other factors.

For further information on the 2019-2020 CSKT Bison Hunt Orientation contact Stephanie Gillin, Information & Education Program Manager at 675-2700 ext. 7241 or Tom McDonald at ext. 7288.
