(5 – 7 YEAR CONTRACT)
The successful applicant must be a graduate engineer. Must be registered as a Professional Engineer in Montana, or be capable of being registered in Montana in a reasonable time period. A copy of the license is required for application. Must be able to sustain Professional Engineer license at all times as a term of employment. Must have supervision for at least five (5) years. Must have direct successful experience managing construction projects and large sums of system investments. Must be able to provide the focus and direction for the utility in long-and short-range plant infrastructure and understand the consequences of his/her recommendations. Must have the ability to develop the people in the work group through training, both formal and in-the job. Will mentor electrical engineers in obtaining their professional licensure. Must be proficient in preparation of annual budgets detailing engineering (and operations, if applicable) needs. Must be detail oriented in the role of providing detail for engineering plans and to document accomplishments for the purpose of public disclosure and system reliability; Must be proficient communicator orally and in writing. This includes the skill to communicate across cultural and educational barriers in a diplomatic and effective manner, especially with the general public of the Utility. Must have a valid State Driver’s license. Must possess a professional engineering license at the time of application. This position is considered to be a testing designated position as described in the Mission Valley Power drug and alcohol program. Must reside in an area served by Mission Valley Power. This position is covered under the basic agreement between the Confederated Salish & Kootenai Tribes and the IBEW 768; employee must join the union within thirty (30) days of hire. Probationary period: Due to the complexity of the job and the nature of the job duties and the planning required the incumbent will serve an initial probationary period of 15 months. Must have a valid State Driver’s license. Must reside in an area served by Mission Valley Power. All applicants must submit a completed Tribal application, copy of academic transcript and/or relevant training certificates, proof of enrollment from a federally recognized Tribe if other than CSKT and if claiming Veteran’s Preference, a copy of DD214 must be submitted to the Personnel Office, P.O.
