Details for AUTOMATED METER READING (AMR) SPECIALIST APPRENTICE

Successful applicant must be able to work 40 hours a week with additional time and evening and/or weekends when necessary. Must possess a current valid Montana driver’s license. Documented computer related training, and demonstrated (through testing) ability to prepare basic computer generated reports using Microsoft Excel and Word is required. Must be able to travel occasionally out of area and overnight. Physical requirements: Must be able to sit up to 10 hours per day using a computer, telephone, etc. Must be able to lift and move boxes and computer equipment (up to 50 lbs). Must be able to drive a vehicle for up to 10 hours per day on occasional trips; be willing to travel by air when needed. Completion of Hunt Technologies, TS2 Training “TS2 Command Center Introduction”, and Hunt Technologies, TS2 training “TS2 Command Center Advanced”, as available, within 2 years of hire (4,000 hours of work). Work in MVP’s Meter Shop with Operations personnel a minimum of 40 hours to learn basic meter functioning, types, etc., within 1st year of hire (2,000 hours of work). Work with Billing staff a minimum of 80 hours in order to understand the various billing processes; this will include assisting with a complete billing cycle within 1st year of hire (2000 hours of work). Must live within Mission Valley Power’s Service area. The position is covered under the basic agreement between the Confederated Salish & Kootenai Tribes and the IBEW 768; employee must join the union within 30 days of hire.
