Polson Police Department: Operation Blue Christmas successful

From Polson Police Department

POLSON — On the night of December 18, the Polson Police Department, with the assistance of the Flathead Tribal Police Department, concluded a short-term drug investigation nicknamed ‘Operation Blue Christmas.’ The scope of the investigation was to rescue drug endangered children, to target suspected drug dealers, users/abusers and the houses they operate out of.

One-by-one, four residential search warrants were executed within Polson City limits. Several items were seized as a result: over 2.5 ounces of marijuana, over a dozen opiate pills, a firearm and ammunition, various other weapons including knives and brass knuckles, several items of drug paraphernalia ranging from homemade pipes, snort tubes, syringes and other devices used to ingest dangerous drugs, and over $11,000 of cash believed to be proceeds from illicit drug sales.

Six individuals were arrested. Their charges ranged from outstanding arrest warrants, drug sales, drug possession, drug paraphernalia and evidence tampering.

Several children were removed from these dangerous living conditions. Nobody was injured during the execution of the search warrants. The success of Operation Blue Christmas would not have been possible if it was not for the collaborative efforts from the Flathead Tribal Police and Confederated Salish & Kootenai Child Protective Services Division. We would also like to express our gratitude to the Lake County E-911 Center. The teamwork demonstrated by all greatly contributes to our community’s public safety and quality of life.
