Tribal election just around the corner, do you know the polling places?

Char-Koosta News

PABLO — The Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes Tribal Council Primary Election is just over two weeks away. On Saturday, October 21, the CSKT electorate will head to the polls to whittle down the 25-person candidate field to 10 — two in each of the five voting districts. The General Election is set for Saturday, December 16.

Every two years, half of the 10-person Tribal Council seats are contested. The process is meant to, among other things, offer continuity of knowledge of ongoing Tribal Council efforts and initiatives.

There are polling sites in each of the communities within the exterior bounds of the Flathead Reservation except Charlo. The polling sites are at the usual and accustomed locations except for Dixon.

The new Dixon polling site is now at the Dixon Elementary School in the Dixon School Community Building on the west end of the campus.

Polling Sites:
    • Arlee – Indian Senior Citizen Center
    • Elmo – Elmo Community Center
    • Polson – Indian Senior Citizen Center
    • Ronan – Indian Senior Citizen Center
    • St. Ignatius – Indian Senior Center
    • Dixon – Dixon School Community Building
    • Hot Springs – Indian Senior Citizen Center
    • Pablo – Tribal Complex
