2014 Summer Youth Employment applications now available
PABLO — The 2014 Summer Youth Employment applications are now available at the Summer Youth Office, located in the KERR Elderly/LIHEAP trailer just North of Sylvia’s Store, or at area high school counselor’s office. Applications are accepted April 17 - June 5, at 5:30 p.m.
The Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP) is a federally funded program that provides meaningful, paid work experience for youth between the ages of 14 and 21, and is enrolled in a federally recognized tribe. SYEP is income based. The youth will earn the federal minimum wage of $7.25 per hour.
Participating businesses get quality workers at no cost and positively impact the community by helping to develop responsible, well-trained young adults. And, the youth develop positive work habits, employment skills and an awareness of work place expectations.
The SYEP Career Fair will take place at the Two Eagle River School gym on Monday, June 16 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The Career Fair is mandatory for all participants and you must attend ALL DAY in order to be eligible for a job placement. Morning snacks and lunch will be provided.
