Martin Luther King, Jr. essay contest open to grades 7-12
ST. IGNATIUS — The Flathead Reservation Human Rights Coalition invites student from grades 7-12 to enter an essay contest about civil rights leader Martin Luther King, Jr.
Read the quote below and explain in 250 words or less what it means to you and how you personally might implement it into your daily and/or future life.
“I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character.” Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr.
Rules: One entry per student and must be typewritten. On the back of your entry include your name, age, grade, and telephone number. Writing must be the work of the entrant. Entries are due January 8, 2014. Send to FRHRC, Box 111, Ronan, MT 59864
There is no fee to enter this contest. Winners will be announced prior to Martin Luther King Jr. Day. If you have questions, please call 745-4259 or 824-2821.
This contest is open to public, private and home-schooled students grades 7-12 and will be judged by local writers.
Flathead Reservation Human Rights Coalition is a local 501c3 non-profit that has been sponsoring cultural fairs, workshops and Hate-Free zone activities in the reservation community for the last 24 years.
