Salish Kootenai College graduation brings friends and family from all over

PABLO — The Joe McDonald Health and Fitness Center was packed to capacity as family and friends near and far came to attend this year’s Salish and Kootenai College’s graduation ceremony.

With nearly 200 graduates, the ceremony featured several guest speakers including: Montana’s Director of Indian Affairs Jason Smith, Interim SKC President Dr. Elaine Frank, and CS&KT Chairman Joe Durglo. Host drums were Yamncut and Chief Cliff, and opening and closing prayers were conducted by Tony Incashola of the Salish and Pend d’Oreille Culture Committee and Vernon Finley of the Kootenai Culture Committee. Honor dances were performed by Wilbert Michel and Linda King.
