THHS intern and summer camp app deadlines extended
ST. IGNATIUS — The Tribal Health and Human Services Intern Advisory Committee has extended the deadlines for the Summer Intern Program and the Health Care Warriors Camp.
The Summer Intern Program has extended the application process until Friday, May 31. Tribal Health is seeking college-age students, preferably with one year of college under their belts pursuing a health related field of study for its Summer Intern Program. The Health Care Warriors Camp application process has also been extended until Friday, July 12. Tribal Health is also seeking adolescents that will be entering the 7th grade this fall for its Health Care Warriors Camp.
The end goal of providing enrolled and educationally qualified Salish, Pend d’Oreille and Kootenai tribal members and/or descendants with employment opportunities within THHS.
Tribal Health is committed to the development of a professional workforce and the opportunity for people to pursue a career in health care to serve the tribal membership as part of a professional team of heath care providers.
Tribal Health recognizes the disparity of health care professionals from the Native population. Tribal Health is committed to rectify the disparity in a culturally competent approach with, among other recruitment efforts, the internships and Health Care Warriors camp.
