Pablo gun owner participates in statewide ad campaign criticizing Senator Max Baucus
PABLO — A Pablo gun owner is featured in a statewide ad campaign criticizing Senator Max Baucus for his recent vote against criminal background checks for gun sales.
The full-page newspaper ad includes a letter signed by over 80 gun owners from across the state. Pablo resident Francine Dupuis is among those featured in the ad.
The ad cites a recent poll conducted by the bipartisan Mayors Against Illegal Guns, which shows that 79 percent of Montanans support background checks. It also states that Baucus has received $48,419 in support from gun interests, and over $1,000,000 from lobbyists -- and asks people to take action at GunOwnersForReform.com.
“Senator Baucus, it was WRONG to vote ‘no’ on stopping gun violence. 79 percent of Montana voters support background checks. Stand with us, not gun manufactures. Support sensible gun laws and keep our families and communities safe,” states the ad.
Francine Dupuis is one of 23,000 gun owners who signed up at GunOwnersForReform.com, a website sponsored by the Progressive Change Campaign Committee, which is running the ads.
The ad is running in 20 newspapers across the state, including Char-Koosta News.
