POLSON — The Fourth annual Winter Fest will be held on February 23 at the Elks Club. The event will feature a sensational sliced pork entr?e prepared by revered chef Guy Hill, of the Old World Deli.
Don’t miss celebrated Country singer and songwriter Rob Quist beginning at 8 p.m. Quist captures the spirit of our lands with unmatched originality and cultural sensitivity. The Missoulian identified Quist as “one of the premiere Montana musicians of the 20 Century.”
All proceeds benefit Soup’s On at the Wander Inn, as well as other projects supported by Interfaith and Community Outreach Partners (ICOP).
The benefit organizers are currently seeking auction donations.
Many exciting events are planned during the week preceding Saturday’s festival. As a means of raising awareness of the many homeless people currently in our area, a small group of dedicated visionaries will be camping in a tipi on the lawn of the Wander Inn. “We won’t come in until we raise $20,000” to continue the development of a transitional living shelter here in Polson. Donations will be gratefully received at the Tipi Camp throughout the week.
The Wander Inn will be hosting an open house Wednesday through Friday, February 20 to 23, with entertaining activities each afternoon. Join the Bingo competition on Wednesday, and enjoy Karaoke with Loralei on Thursday. The tipi dwellers will host a s’mores dessert during Family Table on Friday, and will be showing adventure films on a big screen TV. All events begin at 5 pm.
Please visit the Wander Inn during Soup’s On, open from 11a.m. to 1:30 p.m., Monday through Thursday. Each day, compassionate volunteers from your community prepare and serve bowls of savory soup in a warm, friendly atmosphere. All are welcome. Since its inception in December 2009, the Soup’s On project has served over 42,000 portions, and the transitional quarters provides nearly 850 shelter nights per year.
