Two Eagle River School goes head-to-head with Arlee High School

PABLO — Native basketball was on display this past Saturday as Two Eagle River School took on the Arlee Warriors at the Nest.
What may have been an expected blowout, considering Two Eagle holds a 2-8 record and Arlee holds an 8-2 record, turned out to be an entertaining game until the end.
The stands were packed and both teams were flying from their Friday night wins. Two Eagle won against Valley Christian 62-52 and Arlee won against Charlo 87-51.
The first quarter was a tug of war for points ending in Two Eagle 16, Warriors 21. Two Eagle’s Will Michel was the quarter’s top scorer with 10 points.

By the second quarter, the Warriors strong conditioning and knack for threes kicked in. Warrior Zane Ligas led the second quarter points with 12-all threes. The first half ended Two Eagle 36, Warriors 53.
Although Two Eagle fans remained hopeful, the Warriors maintained a strong lead for the remainder of the game and cracked the 100-point mark. The final score was Two Eagle 68, Warriors 107.
Arlee’s JV and Girl’s teams also had success on Saturday. JV scores: Arlee 82, Two Eagle 36 and Girls: Arlee 61, Two Eagle 22.
