Standing Arrow Powwow is next weekend, July 20-22

ELMO — The 33rd Annual Standing Arrow Powwow will begin next Friday-Sunday in honor of Elmo’s longest living Ksanka member, the grand dame, Helen Charlo.
In addition to the powwow dance and drumming contests, there will be a stickgame tournament with a $10,000 guaranteed payout, a parade, youth 3-on-3 basketball tournament, and a co-ed softball tournament in memory of Leila Clairmont-Perez.
Deadline for the memorial co-ed softball tournament is Wednesday, July 18. Please contact Silas Perez to register at (406) 203-6662.
Standing Arrow will host a youth 3-on-3 basketball tournament. Teams can contact Pearl Yellowman at (406) 212-3709.
Saturday’s event will begin with registering for the parade at 9 a.m. and the stickgame registration beginning at 10 a.m. To volunteer to help with the parade or for more information contact Alvina Tenas at (406) 314-3028. Registration fee to “The Stickgame Capitol of the World” tournament is $150 per team, with the tournament starting at 1 p.m.
