Quinn’s Hot Springs Resort hosts Baroque Music Festival on July 17-19
PARADISE — Sanders County Arts Council announces the 9th Annual Montana Baroque Music Festival from July 17-19 at Quinn’s Hot Springs Resort.
In the words of the Artistic Director Adam LaMotte on the Festival website: “Set in the idyllic Clark Fork River Valley, steps from the Clark Fork River, the Montana Baroque Festival presents three exciting concerts each summer. There’s nothing quite like hearing the foot-tapping, heart-racing music of the baroque, played on ancient instruments by acclaimed instrumentalists in such a beautiful setting.”
These musicians are coming together from their usual venues for the ninth year to share their talents and music with this audience and with each other. The theme this year is “Bach and the Beasts.” The music of Bach and other baroque composers will be played on “the beasts” – viola da gamba, viola d’amore and pardessus as well as the more familiar instruments. A different program is featured each evening.
This outdoor concert is at 7 p.m. each evening on the grounds of Quinn’s Hot Springs Resort. Tickets are $16 each or $42 for the series of three concerts. Tickets are available on-line from www.montanabaroquefestival.org. Quinn’s Hot Springs Resort has tickets or lodging packages available (406) 826-3150. Other outlets are Rockin’ Rudy’s and Morgenroth Music in Missoula; First Security Banks in Thompson Falls and Plains; and Garden Gift and Floral in Plains. Tickets available at the door.
Each evening of the festival there will be a silent auction and a display of student work that has been produced by area students in response as they listen to baroque music.
