DHRD Childcare Block Grant extends program effective immediately
PABLO — The Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes DHRD Childcare Block Grant Program would like to announce changes for the remainder of fiscal year 2012 effective immediately.
DHRD will be accepting applications for 20 new children. Acceptance will be on a first-come first-served basis with a completed application. Applications can be picked up from Dovita Finley at DHRD Childcare in the Kerr Elderly trailer.
Eligibility continues to be at 125% of Poverty Income Guidelines.
DHRD had previously reported funding would not be adequate for the remainder of the fiscal year, however they are pleased to announce that they have funding available to cover childcare through the remainder of the fiscal year for the months of June 1 through September 30.
Copayments will be reduced from 10% of monthly gross income to 5% of monthly gross income.
If you have any questions please call Dovita at 675-2700, ext. 1378.
DHRD would also like to remind parents of their requirement to attend two hours of parenting classes per month that you are receiving assistance. There will be no exceptions! Parents that who do not have a schedule of the classes are asked to please contact their office.
Parents must have a valid Childcare Authorization Form in order to be eligible for childcare assistance. If the Authorization Form has expired, it means you are no longer covered.
Childcare Update Forms are now available to update your Childcare application. Remember to update since all current Authorizations expire May 31, 2012.
