SKC President’s Lecture Series presents Virgil Brave Rock

PABLO — Professor Virgil Brave Rock, MSW of the SKC Social Work Program will present “Three Indian Cultures with Indian Culture” at the Arlee/Charlo Theatre located on the SKC Campus on February 10 from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m.

“Three Indian Cultures within Indian Culture”, is a look at the progression of the Native American people from the cultural, bi-cultural and non cultural perspective and their characteristics. The progression, to which he refers, is the degree to which the assimilation process has affected the individual, their family, and community.

Virgil Brave Rock, “Nina Kiayowa”, (Bear Chief) is a member of the Blackfeet/Blood Tribe in Alberta, Canada. Virgil currently works as the Field Education Director, in the Social Work Program at Salish Kootenai College. He earned his Master Degree of Social Work from Eastern Washington University in 1999. He is an alumnus from SKC where he received his Bachelor Degree in Native American Human Services in 1997.
