Community input encouraged for Montana University System Listening Tour on October 28 at Salish Kootenai College
PABLO — The Commissioner of Higher Education, Sheila Stearns, will
be conducting a series of community listening sessions across the state
over the next few weeks. Sixteen communities have been chosen to host
the interactive events where various members of the Board of Regents
will join the Commissioner. The sessions are designed to allow
individuals to voice concerns about the higher education system and to
offer suggestions for improvement. The Commissioner will make brief
remarks about dual enrollment, transferability, pricing, availability
and affordability of post secondary programs. The Montana University
System is putting increased emphasis on making programs available to
more Montanans and to increase the number of Montanans completing
certificates and degrees through a Lumina Education Foundation
Initiative entitled COLLEGE!NOW.
The session will be held from 10 a.m. to noon on Thursday,
October 28 at the Late Louie Caye Building on the campus of Salish
Kootenai College. Everyone is invited to participate.
