Big Brothers Big Sisters announces 3rd annual golf scramble
RONAN — Big Brothers Big Sisters (BBBS) is now accepting entry
applications for its 3rd annual golf scramble fundraiser to be held on
Saturday, September 18 at Mission Mountain Golf Course. Registration is
from 8 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. and the shotgun start is 9 a.m. The entry fee
is $250 per four-person team and includes a continental breakfast,
barbecue lunch and green fees. All proceeds are donated to Big Brothers
Big Sisters of Lake County and the Flathead Reservation. Hole and team
prizes will be awarded.
BBBS executive director, Julia Williams says, "The annual golf
scramble is a major fundraiser for Big Brothers Big Sisters. We greatly
appreciate past support from our community and look forward to another
fun day. There are various ways for the community to become involved
including sponsorships or food and prize donations." Local businesses
are invited to be $100 hole sponsors, which includes a business listing
at the hole as well as on a banner in the clubhouse.
Big Brothers Big Sisters of Lake County and the Flathead
Reservation serves children in Ronan, Pablo, Polson and Hot Springs
schools. Their mission is to help children reach their potential
through professionally supported, one-to-one relationships with mentors
that have a measurable impact on our youth. Big Brothers Big Sisters is
a best practice prevention program proven to impact a broad spectrum of
risk factors including delinquency, alcohol, tobacco and drug use, teen
pregnancy and school dropout, while simultaneously helping children
reach their highest potential. While the program has historically
partnered high school students as "Bigs," the organization is now
adding an adult mentoring program and invites interested community
members to contact the BBBS office for information about the program.
