CSKT Biz Development EXPO
Place to launch or expand a business
PABLO — The Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes will present an
Indian Business Development EXPO to follow up on the business
development seminars that took place earlier this year in the
communities of Elmo, Pablo, and Arlee. More than 200 participants
attended those past sessions to discuss their pursuit to become
successful entrepreneurs.
The daylong December 2 event will feature three business panels
and a keynote address by Margo Gray-Proctor, an Osage tribal member and
accomplished entrepreneur who is also Chairwoman of the National Center
for American Indian Enterprise Development, the premier national Indian
business development organization. This event is a continuation of a
Tribal initiative to promote small business development on the Flathead
Reservation. The event brings together business-development services
and resources with potential and established entrepreneurs on the
reservation. This Expo is an unprecedented outreach designed to promote
existing and potential Indian entrepreneurs.
The event is planned to run from 9 AM to 4:30 PM, December 2,
at the Joe McDonald Health and Athletic Center in Pablo. Lunch is
provided for all participants.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND?
Indian business owners, businesses in transition, perspective Indian
entrepreneurs, displaced workers, students and those with tribal
interests are encouraged to attend.
WHAT WILL THEY LEARN?
Attendees will hear an overview and explanation of available business
resources. They will meet contacts and mentors in specific industries
such as agriculture, woods products and service sectors. Attendees may
