Mission Valley Speedway warms its engines for 2009
PABLO — Get your wheels spinning to see the tires spin at the
Mission Valley Speedway season opener this Saturday, May 9, at 3 p.m.
MVS’s opener hopes to raise money for the Mission Valley Animal
Shelter, by donating $2 per admission to MVAS.
MVS is Montana’s longest, fastest high-banked tri-oval 3/8 mile
asphalt track located north of Pablo. It is the only stock car racing
facility located on an Indian reservation and is owned by the CSK
Tribes. It has been competing on a new track since the 1997 season that
was made possible by the Salish Kootenai College Heavy Equipment class
and local businesses throughout the valley. The improvements to the
track, pits and spectator area have made it one of the most talked
about up-and-coming tracks in the Northwest, according to Corky Sias,
MVS track promoter.
To start the season off MVS will run weekly classes to include:
Mission Valley Pepsi limited late models, Miller Lite hobby stocks,
Budweiser bombers, Mod 4 and G & L Propane bommer 4’s. “Graduation Night” is May 16, and admission is free to all graduating seniors. A Street Dance and Car Expedition will be on Friday, May 22.
The Corey Wolfe Challenge and all qualifying for the Pepsi
Limited late model 100-lap race will begin at 4 p.m. on Saturday, May
23.
The ASA Late Model Tour Race will be Sunday, May 24, purse
totaling $50,000. Race sponsor is Chuckie McClure and First Place
winner will take home $10,000.
The Speedway is located between Pablo and Polson approximately 1 1/4 miles west of Highway 93 at mile marker 55. For
