Public invited to plan proposed commodities building
PABLO — The Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribes and the
Department of Human Resource Development is starting the environmental
review process for a proposed new commodities building near the Tribal
bus barn south of Mission Valley Power. The Proposal area is located in
Pablo, (T 21 N/R 20 W/Sec 11).
The proposal area has been previously disturbed, and is located
on flat ground. It is located well away from wetlands, riparian areas,
or any floodplain. Sewage and water would be from existing facilities.
Work would tentatively begin during spring 2009, and be completed by
fall 2010.
The proposal would be reviewed according to the National
Environmental Policy Act (NEPA). The public is invited to participate
in planning. Please provide comments by February 26. The mailing
