Hot Springs drops two 14-C conference games

HOT SPRINGS - The Savage Heat dropped their two District 14-C
conference games last week. On Thursday, Hot Springs was beaten by Two
Eagle 51-47. Friday, the Noxon Red Devils got the better of the Savage
Heat 47-41. The losses put Hot Springs 1-4 in conference and 3-5
overall. Noxon 47, Hot Springs 41 The Red Devils went on a 17-10 first quarter run and followed that with a 12-6 second quarter and led 29-16 at the half.
The Savage Heat had a better go of it in the second half. They
outscored Noxon 11-5 in the third to pull within seven (34-27). The
Savage Heat got the better of Noxon by one (14-13) in the fourth but it
was not enough to overcome the Red Devils lead and it closed the books
at 47-41 in Noxon's favor.
Nick Malinak led Hot Springs with 16 points and Carter Farrier had 10.
Red Devil Cody Linderman led Noxon with 19 points and Jesse Hay had 10. Noxon is now 5-0 in 14-C and 7-4 overall.
• Hot Springs (1-4, 3-5) hosts Plains Friday, Jan. 23 and play at Arlee Saturday, Jan. 24.
