Sandpiper Art Gallery hosts Ninepipes artists

POLSON — The Sandpiper Art Gallery and Gift Shop, now at 306 Main, is pleased to host the Ninepipe Arts Group and Friends: “From the Mission Valley and Beyond” from January 13 through February 11. There will be a gala public reception Friday evening January 16 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Gallery.

An eclectic mix of mediums is on tap, including furniture, sculpture, jewelry, fiber art, collage and paintings.

Founded in 2002 by Tish Herries, the Ninepipe Arts Group’s first project was bringing Shakespeare in the Parks to Charlo. Now they host an annual audition for 60 children for the Missoula Children’s Theater, and organize the Charlo Fine Arts Camp. The group also sponsors a scholarship for a local high school senior, funds cultural field trips for school groups, offers a summer music camp scholarship and other benefits for schools in Charlo, Dixon, St Ignatius and Ronan.

There will also be a style show entitled “Wear Art Thou” as their annual fundraiser at Leon Hall Valentine’s Day February 14. The “Trashin’ to Fashion” show features models dressed in cast-off items such as plastic bags, tablecloths, plastic bottles and duct tape. Tickets are available from Ninepipe Arts Group members.

Winter hours are Tuesday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Please phone 883-5956 during Gallery hours for more information or visit www.sandpiperartgallery.com.
