Public meeting to discuss traffic safety issues
relating to large trucks on MT 35 along the east shore and U.S. 93
along the west shore
POLSON — The Montana Department of Transportation (MDT) is
conducting two public meetings to discuss safety issues regarding large
trucks on MT 35 and U.S. 93. The meetings are scheduled for Wednesday,
June 4 at the Best Western White Oak Grand Hotel, 4824 U.S. Hwy 93 in
Kalispell and Thursday, June 5 at the Best Western KwaTaqNuk Resort,
303 U.S. Hwy. 93 in Polson. Each meeting will follow the same agenda
and the public is invited to attend either meeting. The meetings will
start at 6:30 p.m. with an open house, followed by a presentation from
MDT Director Jim Lynch at 7 p.m.
Director Lynch will present current information concerning
traffic and safety issues on MT 35 and U.S. Hwy 93, especially as they
relate to large trucks. After the director’s presentation, the meeting
will be open for discussion on related issues.
Anyone interested in learning more about the safety issues
pertaining to large trucks on MT 35 and U.S. Hwy 93 is encouraged to
attend. Opinions, comments and concerns may be submitted in writing at
