Five more Tribal Council district meetings announced
to discuss water rights negotiations with the state and the Tribes'
reorganization
Elmo District Tribal Council Representative Reuben Mathias hosted a
district meeting last night. His was the first of five more scheduled
district meetings planned throughout the reservation designed to
discuss with the membership the water rights negotiations with the
state of Montana and the tribal reorganization.
On Wednesday, April 23, Councilman Mike Kenmille will host his
district meeting at the Hot Springs Indian Senior Center at 6 p.m.
On Monday, April 28, Council members Steve Lozar, Carole
Lankford and Bud Moran will host a joint Polson, Ronan and Pablo
district meeting at 7 p.m., at Polson Senior Center. Lankford will be
on travel status on the date of the Polson/Pablo/Ronan meeting and she
is encouraging all Ronan residents to attend the Polson meeting.
Wednesday, April 30, Councilmen Jimmy Malatare and Tribal
Chairman James Steele Jr., of the Arlee district have set their meeting
to begin at 6 p.m., at the Arlee Indian Senior Center.
The third district meeting hosted by St. Ignatius Councilmen
Charlie Morigeau and Joe Durglo, will be held at the Tribal Health
Department’s Diabetes Conference Room on Monday, May 5, at 6 p.m.,
dinner will be provided.
The last in the series of district meetings will be the Dixon
district meeting hosted by Councilman Terry Pitts, Wednesday, May 7,
beginning at 6:30 p.m. at the Dixon Indian Senior Center.
