Morigeau to play football at UM Western

High School student-athlete Alex Morigeau recently signed a letter of
intent to attend the University of Montana-Western and play football

Ferris recently announced the signing of eight student-athletes to
Frontier Conference/NAIA letters of intent. Among the student-athletes
to commit to UM-W Bulldogs football team was Mission Bulldog Alex
Morigeau.
Besides Morigeau, the UM-W Bulldogs also signed
wide receiver
Zack Rowan of Libby, defensive end Kyle Winter of Kalispell Flathead,
wide receiver and defensive back Michael "Mac" Cuffe of Missoula
Loyola, linebacker Erik Grimsrud of Missoula Sentinel, offensive
lineman/defensive tackle David Sandau of Missoula Sentinel, offensive
lineman James Hane of Drummond and wide receiver Luke Wildung of
Stanford
Morigeau, a 6-2, 326 pound Mission High School
senior lineman,
played both sides of the ball during his four years with the Mission
Bulldogs. On defense, Morigeau recorded 30.5 tackles and four
quarterback sacks his senior season and for his career, 82.5 tackles
and 11 quarterback sacks. He earned all-conference honors as an
offensive lineman and was selected to play the Class B All-Star game.
Morigeau has participated in UM-W football camps
as a high
school athlete and drew the attention of the UM-W coaches for his size,
skills and determination.
"Alex is a big, athletic kid," Ferris said. "As a
staff, we
worked with him at a summer camp in Missoula. He is a great 'attitude'
player with a lot of energy."
Morigeau not only excelled on the gridiron he
excelled in the
classroom as well. While at MHS Morigeau maintained a 3.6 grade point
average and earned academic all-state honors for four years. He will
major in pre-professional fish and wildlife.
Morigeau is the son of Jackie Spidel and Charlie
Morigeau of St. Ignatius.
