Administration functional assignments
On March 4, 2008, the Tribal Council adopted a team approach to Tribal
Administration functions and responsibilities. Instead of two
positions, there will be four positions1 generally described below. The
directive of the Tribal Council is to enhance the capacity of Tribal
Administrative functions with minimal budget impacts. As we work to
achieve improved outcomes in the Tribal government, your opinion is
sought.
Office of
Legislative Services
This position will provide Tribal Council support in meetings, with
existing & pending legislation, with ongoing Tribal Council
business, with organizational policy development and ensuring Tribal
Council action is immediately communicated, carried out and efficiently
implemented. Serves as a member of the CSKT budget team. What is your
expectation of the outcomes of this Office?
Office of
Tribal Services
This position will supervise the Tribal department heads and ensure
that Tribal Council policy is documented and carried out in an
efficient and effective manner. Services to the membership are the
focus of this office. Serves as a member of the CSKT budget team. What
is your expectation of the outcomes of this Office?
Office of
Financial Management
This position will develop revenue projections, budgets, ensure audits
are carried out and will supervise payroll, accounting, Tribal Credit,
etc. ensuring all functions are efficient and effective in their
approach. Serves as a member of the CSKT budget team. What is your
expectation of the outcomes of this Office?
Office of
Administration
This office will supervise Tribal Personnel Office, Maintenance, IT,
contracts and grants and most of the Tribal government infrastructure
ensuring the internal infrastructure and support systems are efficient
and effective. Serves as a member of the CSKT budget team. What is your
expectation of the outcomes of this Office?
Tribal
Department Consolidation and Realignment

consolidation and realignment for efficiency and effectiveness?
Economic
Development Priorities
Do you have any suggestions for Economic Development priorities or
projects?

development areas or projects would
you consider to be "off limits" and for what reason?
Communication
about the Strategic Planning Process
Are articles in the Char-Koosta an effective way to communicate with
the membership about the strategic planning efforts and outcomes? Do
you have any other suggestions?
As the process progresses, and more details are
finalized, there may be changes to titles and alignment of individual
functions to maximize the ability of the Tribes to recover costs.
