PABLO — Every year at this time
Char-Koosta News does a year-in-review narrative. This year in addition
to the narrative, we wanted to recognize some of our guest
photographers who helped liven up our paper with their photographs and
some of the staff's photos as well.

Our favorite wildlife photo belongs
to Jordan Albert, our intrepid photographer from Polson. Jordan
provided us with pictures of wildlife while on the back roads across
the reservation. This photo taken of a bear, features the bear doing
what he does best - sitting in the woods.

Lasca
Rettalick captured the colors from the
Chippy Creek fire's smoke near Lonepine in August.

It was
a long haul for firefighters this past
summer as extremely hot and arid temperatures plagued the reservation
and beyond, as Joanne Bigcrane's photo taken in Hellgate's Canyon shows
the Blackcat Fire crew walking near one flank of the extinguished fire.

Pat
Matt photographed and featured Ray Nichols,
Terra and their son Raydell in an article and subsequent advertisements
for the Fatherhood program we felt captured family ties.

A
tribal newspaper would not be complete without a
favorite staff powwow picture; Amber Rose Cleveland, women's fancy
dancer, is caught on film by Marianne Addison at the Denver March
Powwow last spring.

Our
editor/publisher, Kim Swaney, photographed our
favorite staff wildlife photo of this mama red fox who took up
residency northeast of Ronan with her kits late last spring/early
summer.

Sam
Sandoval, our assistant editor, provided a
winter wonder photo at Ronan City Park during its first real dousing of
snow in late November for our favorite staff scenery photo.

Joanie
and Lewellyn had a hay day late last winter
in February during the coyote sleepover, where they learned the art of
storytelling and each made a mask for their story and skit.

Alyssa
Kelly's photo of UM's Mascot Monte with
these apprehensive girls on either side with their expressions was a
Kodak moment.
