PABLO — The SKC women's team thumped the Rams, 86-75, to kick off the grand opening festivities of SKC's new gym on Monday night here. Led by post-player, Carla McLean, the Bison jumped out to a lead and hardly looked back. However, foul trouble caused McLean to sit on the sidelines, and the Rams made a run late in the second half to make the game close. Adree Hugs led the way for the Rams with 28 points, and the rest of the Bison rose to the occasion and stepped up with smart playing by the guards, timely three pointers, and maintained control of the game to increase the lead and win.

Following the women's great effort, the SKC men's team was sent to the slaughterhouse by a bunch of Little Bighorn College Rams. Although the Bison scored a scorching 111 points, the Rams hot shooting and composure in the face of tenacious Bison defense held it together to the very end of the game to score 124 points.

Starters for SKC were DJ Piapot, Lyman Tailfeathers, John Young, Pius Takes Horse, and Joe Chartraw. The Rams scored the first two points of the game. After that, the half was filled with both teams trading baskets. Crazy passes, shots that looked like they were sure to miss fell through the net, and hyperactive full-court pressure defense sums up the first half.

In the second half, the Bison found themselves down with eight minutes left in the game. Tired legs, sloppy passes, and a lack of disciplined defense were factors. When the Bison began to make a late game rally, the Bison fell short in the face of foul trouble by key players. Pius Takes Horse, Howard Walker, Joe Chartraw, and Lyman Tailfeathers all fouled out. The fouls hurt the Bison as ice-cold players sitting on the bench for most of the game were practically thrown to the wolves at the end of the second half.
