Baby boom continues at St. Luke
RONAN — Through the first six months of 2007,
eight more babies have been born at St. Luke Community Hospital in
Ronan than through June of 2006. That amounts to an 11 percent increase
in births from a year ago.
Six times a year, the Ronan hospital hosts a one-day
childbirth education class. The next class with St. Luke Community
Hospital Certified Childbirth Educator (CCE) Linda Cox is Saturday,
July 14th.
The class begins 8 a.m. and will cover pregnancy, labor,
and the birth process with instructions for Lamaze breathing and
relaxation techniques, stress management, and infant CPR among other
things.
The class is open to anyone whether it's a first baby or
just a refresher course. Cox says, "Ideally any expectant mother in the
last three months of pregnancy should attend." The RN adds that all
expectant mothers and their partners, regardless of doctor preference
or where the delivery will take place, are welcome.
Those looking to enroll in the childbirth education
class that will be held in the St. Luke Community Hospital downstairs
large conference room should contact Linda Cox at St. Luke Community
Hospital at 676-4441 Ext 306.
