Ascencio graduates from basic training

SAN DIEGO, Calif. — Confederated Salish and Kootenai tribal member Milan Ascencio graduated from the Marine's basic training on June 8, just one day before his 18th birthday.

Milan, who graduated from high school at the age of 15 in Phoenix, AZ, attended college before enlisting in the Marines.

He is son of Tina (Davis) Granfell, Phoenix, AZ and Max Ascencio, Pablo.

His proud father wanted to let his tribe, family and friends know of Milan's recent accomplishment and his commitment to this great nation and to recognize all veterans who are currently serving in the military.
