Memorial Day Peace Picnic set

POST CREEK — On Monday, May 28, there will a Memorial Day Peace Gathering at noon, in Bearhead Swaney's pasture north of Post Creek (mile marker 38).

The event, sponsored by the Mission Valley Peace Vigil and open to the public, will include prayers, drumming, songs, poetry, and readings in remembrance of those who have died in war and in support of those now serving in the military.

In addition, the Peace Vigil will dedicate a new peace sign along highway 93 and put up more crosses in memory of those who have died in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Following the short program, a potluck picnic will be held. Everyone is invited to bring family and friends, a favorite potluck dish, and their own utensils.
