it's an edible morel mushroom! Don't get caught in the dark on where to
find these tasty mosels. On Tuesday, May 8, at 2 p.m. there will be a
training and workshop at the S & K Holding's office for anyone
interested in harvesting "shrooms" SKH will present the correct way to
identify, harvest, and store morel mushrooms. They also promise to have
some maps available of the most favorable locations to harvest this
year.
S & K Holding will be buying mushrooms
with cash
this year. There will also be buyers out on location ready to purchase
directly from shroomers.
According to SKH, they actually have a big market
for
those wild delectable fungi. Currently, market prices for a Category 1
Morel pays anywhere from $3-5 an ounce.
Morels are categorized as either 1 or 2. Category
2
Morels have slight imperfections, but taste just as good as a Category
1 Morel.
S & K Holding has depleted their inventory
and so
they are anxious for everyone to pick as many mushrooms as they can
this year!
