Annual Bitterroot dig and feast is Tuesday

ST. IGNATIUS - The Salish Pend d'Oreille Culture Committee wish to announce that the annual harvesting of the Bitterroot will take place on Tuesday, May 8.

Transportation is available from the Longhouse to the west side of the reservation for those who wish to partake in the digging/harvesting of the Bitterroot. The Culture Committee plans to leave at 9 a.m. from the Longhouse.

For those who have their own transportation, you can caravan with the group from the Longhouse or not. If you arrive at the Bitterroot-site early, it is customary to wait until after the blessing before digging.

Once the Bitterroot is harvested, it's back to the Longhouse for the feast.
