Bison Range celebrates spring with open house
MOIESE — The staff of the National Bison Range
will celebrate spring by offering an Open House on Friday, May 11, from
noon to 7 p.m.
Visitors will be invited to enjoy coffee and cookies
while hearing about current refuge management and future management
plans for the range complex.
A variety of historical photos, newspaper clippings and videos will be on hand, and posters will be given away.
Another good excuse to visit the range on open house day
is an early trip along Red Sleep Mountain Drive, which will open at
noon and have fees waived. Red Sleep Mountain Drive rises 2,000 feet
and takes about two hours to drive. Evening is a good time for wildlife
viewing, but visitors need to remember to start thedrive by 6 p.m. in order to finish before the front gate closes at 9 p.m.
