Tribal Higher Education scholarships are available Application deadline is May 1

PABLO — Enrolled Confederated Salish and Kootenai members interested in attending a college, university or vocational technical school the academic year 2007-2008 should obtain and complete an application from the Tribal Education Department.

The "academic year" 2007 - 2008 usually begins in August for semester systems and September for quarter systems. Applications are available by calling the Education office at (406) 675-2700, ext. 1072 or 1073, and requesting one be faxed, mailed or personally picked up.

Another option is to go to the Confederated Salish & Kootenai Tribal website www.cskt.org proceed to the "services" tab, and enter the Education Department page; there at the bottom of the page you will find the downloadable forms. For those who take this option, please be sure to print both the application along with the policy and procedures documents. Funds are not guaranteed to every applicant, as there is a priority ranking described in the policy and procedure manual.

Once you have obtained the documents and complete the application return it to the Education Department on or before the May 1, 2007 deadline.

If you have any questions about the process or documents you need to provide and submit with your application, please call Penny or Miranda at the above number for clarification.

Each year the numbers of applicants have significantly increased, therefore the deadline for applications is of vital importance. Please call the Tribal Education staff should you have questions concerning the application process or policies.
