Two killed in wreck

RONAN - A Monday evening accident on Old Highway 93 near Ronan killed two people.

According to police, a northbound car crossed into the southbound lane and hit a motorcycle head-on, killing motorcyclist Fred Roullier, 54, and Patrick "P. J." Finley, 25, one of the two people in the car.

The collision, which happened just before 8:30 p.m., also caused a fire that seriously burned 17-year-old Scott Gardipe, the second person in the car, and destroyed both vehicles.

According to reports, Gardipe was life-flighted to Seattle's Harborview Medical Center.

The wreck occurred on a curve in the road, near the Ronan airport. According to witnesses, someone pulled one of the men from the burning car, and the wreck set a small grass fire. At presstime, no information was available on Gardipe's medical condition.
